Some Advice From The Experts

Call or e-mail us for an initial consultation
Together, we will discuss your housing needs and review your options. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other better and explain what we can do for you. In Maryland, agents represent either the buyer or the seller during a single transaction. As your buyer's agents, we will represent you and work on your behalf every step of the way.

Talk to a Mortgage Banker or Broker
Before you begin your search, you need to know what you can reasonably afford. A mortgage lender or broker will guide you through the process. Loan pre-approval is a standard requirement and involves a loan officer's analysis of your credit score, debts, debt-to-asset ratio, employment and other factors that involve your financial ability and stability. If you are not already working with a loan officer, we will be happy to help you find one who will guide you through the process.

Make a Wish List:
Buying a home can be one of the biggest financial and personal investments in a lifetime. Making a wish list of desired amenities and features for your next home will help keep you on track and assist us, as your Realtors, in finding the house for you.

Begin Your Search
With your pre-approval letter in hand, you are ready to begin your search. We at the Henslee Dailey Team have access to all listings on the Metropolitan Listing Service (MLS), as well as strong ties with builders, investors and For Sale By Owners that might otherwise go unnoticed by the general public. We will work with you to pinpoint the properties that best suit your needs. We check new listings daily and regularly e-mail our buyer clients with listings as they become available. We also visit Broker’s Open houses during the week so that we can preview properties for our clients.

Make An Offer
So, you've found your dream home. Now is the time to make an offer. As expert negotiators and experienced Realtors, we will guide you through the process of writing the offer. That process includes determining the price, setting the terms and presenting an offer that will meet the seller’s needs as well as your own.

What Happens When Your Offer Is Accepted
From this moment on, we will help you (and the other professionals you have chosen) to adhere to the deadlines as dictated by the terms of the contract. This typically includes mortgage application, home inspection, appraisal, title work, termite inspection, insurance binder, mortgage commitment and final walk-through. We at the Henslee Dailey Team pride ourselves on being organized, thorough, detail-oriented and always available to our clients. We understand what an emotional process buying a home can be, and we work hard to make sure the experience is a positive one.

HELPFUL TIP: Do Not Make Any Major Credit Purchases:
A spending spree could cost you in more ways than you'd expect. Mortgage lenders warn that every $100 you pay per month on a credit card payment could cost you approximately $10,000 in home eligibility. So, curb the urge to spend until after you buy your dream home.
